Mary Alice Mills, Ph.D.

Dr. Mills is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized expertise in the areas of anxiety disorders, stress, trauma, emotion regulation, mood management, and performance in high demand contexts. She earned both her Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut, and completed her predoctoral internship at VA Boston Medical Center/Harvard Medical School/Boston University School of Medicine (the Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology). Dr. Mills completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at VA Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine. During both internship and fellowship, Dr. Mills received intensive training in state-of-the-art interventions for a range of psychological difficulties and engaged in research activities through the National Center for PTSD. Dr. Mills was licensed as a clinical psychologist in Rhode Island in 2011.

 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mills has published and presented nationally and internationally on topics related to trauma, resilience, meaning making, coping, and assessment. She is active within local, national, and international psychology organizations.
